Two Years Later

Yes, it’s all natural – only God can give a perm like this!

Hi everyone!

I have been awaiting this day with some anticipation and apprehension.  It is exciting that it’s been two years and that things are going so well.  It has also been a bit emotional, since the anniversary brings up some very hard memories.  It’s disturbing to remember the feelings that I was having two years ago today, but it’s easy to remember the relief we all felt when we learned the results of the surgeries.  It’s nice to look back and realize how far God has brought me in just two years!

I have so much for which to thank God!  Each time my 8-1/4 inch long ringlets (when pulled straight) brush across my back, I’m reminded of God’s faithfulness.  Every time I think of the blessing my children are, I am thankful that I am here to experience their lives.  When they argue, I am reminded (as I remind them!) of what is really important and the things that will last.  When we make plans, it is so wonderful not to have such fear associated with the future.

I had my 38th birthday last week.  It was the best!  Kurt planned a great evening for me and invited some special family members and friends.  We had a really nice time.

As far as medical stuff goes, I had a bone scan and CT scan recently that both showed that everything looks clear.  I have blood tests every three months and with the exception of being anemic, everything looks great!  I continue to feel stronger with more energy.

Well, thanks for visiting my new site.  This will be a permanent site and will free up some space on PrayerServant for urgent prayer needs.  I have saved all of my posts and the messages that you all sent and will cherish them forever.  I am also using them to hopefully write a book that will, God willing, be an encouragement to those affected by any type of cancer or serious illness.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  2 Corinthians 1:3-4.  Cool!

Under His Wings,

Stephanie

    Stephanie,
It is so good to hear how well you are doing and how God has brought you and your family through. I can not imagine how hard this has been for you, Kurt and your kids but God is good and he will give the strength when there is nothing left. Although I have not gone through as tough as a time as this, I have been in the situation that I knew God was giving me the strength to continue when I had nothing left to give.

The curly hair is great. Just think of the money you are saving when all these women are paying high dollar for such curls.

Happy birthday by the way. I turn 40 this year. I still can not believe I’m going to be 40. I still feel like I’m in my twenties. My wife just turned 37 on July 5th.

Thank you for keeping me updated.

    Take care,

    Mark
