August 10 – no news yet!
Well, as some of you may have already heard, I didn't get the results today. There was a problem with some of the lab equipment and they weren't even starting on them until today. So, it's been a rough day just knowing that we have MORE time to wait!
I have been in a lot more pain than I had expected. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but this pain is different than other types of surgery I've had. This is more of a pulling, contracting type of pain, almost like a constant charley horse. I'm feeling a lot better today, though. I don't enjoy the effects of the painkillers, so I'm mostly taking Advil now to control the pain and it's working well.
I've spent the last four days sitting in my recliner. It's the most comfortable place for me still, but it's getting pretty boring! The visit to the doctor's office today was totally exhausting, though, so I know I still need to be lounging around for now. I am finding myself dosing off right in the middle of a conversation with others or on the phone. So, if you call me and I'm suddenly quiet, don't panic – I'm probably just sleeping! ha!
I found some more really cool verses last night that are helping me tremendously. I was having a hard time sleeping in anticipation of the test results. Here they are:
Psalm 4:8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 5:3 In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
So, I am laying my requests before God and waiting in expectation for the answers. Thank you so much for doing the same for me!
