9/29/04 – Two days past 2nd treatment

Just a quick note to ask you to pray for the health of my family. Brayden woke up yesterday throwing up and is fine today, but now it's Amanda's turn. I would like prayers that it will stop there and not affect the rest of us. It's very crucial that I stay well so that my blood counts don't prevent my treatments from continuing on schedule.

I did have my 2nd treatment on Monday. My hair began falling out that morning before I left for the hospital. I am getting it shaved today at 3:30 because it's just falling out everywhere and making a huge mess. I have bald spots, so it's not as if there is any reason to keep it anymore! I had my breakdowns about it last week, so I feel ready to just be done with it. This verse has helped me cope with this:

Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

If God cares enough to number the hairs on my head, surely the things that concern us reach His ears. I have felt Him comfort me through the realization that there are much more important things in life – such as life itself!

I am dealing with the headache again, but it seems a little more manageable than last time. I am on different anti-nausea meds that seem to be better for me. At least I only have two more treatments of this type left – I'm halfway done with the really bad ones!

Well, that's about it for now. Thank you for continuing to pray for my family and me. We appreciate you all so much!
